Your people need more than a salary and fulfilling work to be their best. They need to know that you see the value in them as individuals and in the work they deliver. Your job as a leader is to make those around you feel valuable, challenged, supported and acknowledged — to recognize the unique combination of strengths and capabilities each person brings. When you show your people that you believe in them, that belief becomes contagious. It can infect your whole organization and even influence your market or customers. You might be surprised by how much one person can do when he or she feels recognized and believed in!
